Traditional casting issues
The quality of traditional casting and proto-casting is one of the most common topics in the jewelry sector.
In lost wax casting it’s hard to maintain a constant quality of the product.
In casting with systems printed with 3D technology resin, on the other hand, a discrepancy can be noticed among the types of resins with different melting points and different geometries.
CLEANFLOW goal is to stabilize and significantly improve these and other aspects.
CLEANFLOW, the idea
CLEANFLOW is a kit created to support the preparation process of casting cylinders. It’s been developed to improve the flow and the burning phase of the tree material during the burnout cycle.
The principle on which it is based reduces considerably the problems due to slags inside the cylinder and combustion gas bubbles that struggle to exit with the traditional system.

The kit contains all the necessary elements for preparation of 20 cylinders of ø 100 mm
Kit contents

Perforated lid for the centering of the sprue and creation of a second hole in the investment cover

Heat-resistant conic-shaped cap and C-Clip to seal the second hole at the bottom of the cylinder during metal pouring phase

Steel base to support the heat-resistant cone for the correct positioning at the bottom of the cylinders

Seal to cover the upper part of the cone for greater resistance

OPERATION
STEP 1
Assembling the cylinder
The lid creates the marks on one face of the investment to open the chimney and to make clear which part of the cylinder goes on the bottom in the casting machine
STEP 2
Annealing
During annealing, thanks to the chimney effect, CLEANFLOW facilitates the flow of gas and waste generated by combustion of resin and wax

STEP 3
Burnout
During annealing, thanks to the natural flow of hot air inside the cylinder, CLEANFLOW reduces burnout time up to 50%

Injection
Very important:
the weight of the cylinder, concentrated on the cone only, ensures airtight lock.
It’s normal to have a space between the cylinder and the steel base.
